How it works

Each workshop is four weekly sessions with Sam at Escapology BJJ, Pound Hill, Cambridge. £100 per workshop.

  1. Pick the area you want to work on.

  2. Book a place, or register interest if there are no dates yet.

  3. Sam schedules the ones people ask for, and emails the list before he announces them.

Why it works

At white and blue belt you get the bug. You buy video instructionals, maybe book a few privates. Then you realise you haven't watched most of the instructionals.

By purple and brown belt you understand what was missing. You need to feel the techniques, ask questions, and practise in the right environment.

Seminars are great. A four-week workshop is better: you practise between sessions, and by the end the new skills are baked in. Then you pick another one.

Ed training in the gi
“After training for 7 years I've realised that several focused sessions in small groups beat one-off seminars and video instructionals any day. These workshops that Sam puts on are great for polishing technique and helping to bake it into my game.”

About Sam

Sam received his black belt in 2022 and coaches at Escapology BJJ. The workshops let him deep-dive into techniques and concepts in a way a normal class cannot.
